History

The Library is located within the Computer Science Department, created in 1984.

The library patrimony consists of works from various structures that have transformed over time. The initial nucleus is a book collection that the Calculation Center of the University of Turin, founded in 1968, donated to the Institute of Information Sciences founded in 1971.

The current departmental library has expanded its holdings of specialized works, particularly research-oriented, making it the only library of the University of Turin to cover the IT sector in its methodological and applicative aspects right from the start.

The library of the Department of Computer Science is part of the organization of the Library Services of the Pole of Science of Nature of the University of Turin; its activity is governed by a Regulation and by the Bibliographic Resources Commission.

The contact person for the library is the Head of the Polo Library Services Area, Dr. Viviana Mandrile
